What Is the Best Way to Get to the Heater Coil 2004 Sebring?

A sebring? I would use dynamite

1. Can I open a heater coil in a car with out having to replace it?

If you cut it open in hafl you will have to replace it

2. Connection wires to a electric heater doesn't get hot, when the heater coil is hot. why? Re Review?

the materials do not conduct heat the same way. Materials transfer heat energy differently. One material gets hotter from the electric due to the resistance to the flow of electrons.

3. how do i know if my cars heater coil is leaking?

just what rick said cant be any clearer then that and to add one more thing your car well overheat in time because you are out of coolant because you didnot see the lake on the pass side floor maybe the floor rusted clean throw and you can see the street by now by the way all in fun have a fun time taking it out some cars are hard and some not and heater cores are cheep to buy check around p boys start at 15 bucks good luck

4. My heater coil is broken and coolant is leaking...now I feel sick. Help?!?

Dont drive the car until it is fixed. The vapors are toxic in large doses but you may be "psyched" out about it also. Unless you start to vomit or severe headaches persist, it should clear up shortly. Also the car will suffer engine damage if it overheats from loss of coolant.

5. If the current through a heater coil is 5 amp and the supply voltage is 120 volts, the coil resistance is?

If y'all do not want to answer then do not !!! That's as simple as that, but if you choose to do so,then shut the hell up with all the complaining!! PRETTY SIMPLE

6. The mechanic says my heater coil needs fixed what is this?

I do not know where El Cajon is but most shops are high, it would be cheaper to do it yourself. Cost of heater core average $30-$80 depending on car plus labor $200-$800 depend on shop

7. after you fix the heater coil should it still leak a couple of days?

The heater core? And no it should not

8. Any change in 'I' when electric heater coil breake and rejoint ?

what is your question be specific

9. I have a 2003 Ford Expedition with a mistery water leak. It's not in the heater coil or oil any other ideas?

Have you noticed any water leaking beneath it after you park? If so, you should be able to crawl underneath and see where it is leaking. A likely cause that is often hard to detect is the water pump. If not, then feel the floorboard mats below the front seat(s); could be a slow leak in the heater core. If not, then I would begin to suspect a leaking head gasket

10. Can you replace a heater coil with a heater coil from the junkyard? Its for a 92 ford f 150?

yes, you can, but the time to take it out/ reinstall a used unit that may be just as leaky as your unit, just is not worth it to me. heater cores are not all that expensive even new. buy a new one. if your problem is that you can not get any airflow out the vents, it sounds like a blower motor issue rather than a heater core issue. you may be looking at replacing the wrong part

11. why does the filament of bulb burn out when exposed to atmosphere whereas of a heater coil does not?

It is a matter of temperature and the total amount of material involved. Over time, a heater element does "burn" (oxidize) out - it just does not go out in the same blast of smoke and glory that the small, fragile bulb filament does.

12. How much does a new heater coil repair cost for a 1997 Ford Explorer?

The heater coil itself is not expensive but it cost alot for the work because you have to take your entire dash apart I had 2 mustangs that were 96 and had to replace the heater coil in both and the mechanic charged me 500$

Connection Wires to a Electric Heater Doesn't Get Hot, but Heater Coil Do. Why?
simple. coils are designed with special metals, with certain Resistance to the pass of the electric current. All that is calculated by electrical engineers, as part of the design. Wires are designed with the least amount of Resistance, so they will not get hot. Electricity if fun to study, get into.1. Connection wires to a electric heater doesn't get hot, when the heater coil is hot. why? Re Review? In the example of electric heater leads, the leads are copper, the best thermal conductor and the heater element is some resistive filament/ceramic combination. The element is designed to produce heat and radiate it away. The conductors are designed to deliver the current required, with minimal heating AND are sized accordingly. The mass of the copper is able to radiate the small amount of heat energy generated by the current and absorbed from the element very efficiently. As the element is of higher electrical and thermal resistance than the leads, very little heat is transferred to them6. Another question about my 1999 chevy pickup. The heater coil is leaking. How hard is it to fix? Some late nineties chevy had a trap door on the bottom of the heater case that would make a heater core fairly easy to replace, some did not and the dash will have to come out. A leaking hose will not leak into the cab, so if you have coolant in cab then heater core must be replaced7. Does my 1992 honda accord ex need a new heater coil?yes you need a new heater core8. Connection wires to a electric heater doesn't get hot, but heater coil do. why?If I am right, then I think it's because of the materials. The alloy in the connection wire has very low electrical resistance, making the electricity flow smoothly. But the heating coils might be steel, iron or the like. These will get hot, because they have a significant electrical resistance. EDIT: Looking above, I guess I am right.9. how do i know if my cars heater coil is leaking? If your cars heater CORE is leaking the carpet on the passenger side floor will be damp, also when you run the defroster your windshield will fog up on the inside10.
