What Factors Led to NJ Having Stricter Gun Laws Than Most Other States, and What Is Keeping Them in

I live in New Jersey. Gun laws here align closely with the federal push for gun laws but there are some unique incidents and landmark cases in New Jersey that shape our gun control landscape. The first thing that really pushed gun control nationally and in New Jersey was the Kennedy assassination. Arthur J. Sills, the then attorney general specifically referenced that incident in his testimony before the state legislature in 1966 when the current firearms licensing scheme was being considered. He did say that he was considering tightening up gun laws here before the assassination but the assassination was the final straw. So born out of this was the biggest part of NJ gun control law - the permitting scheme and firearms ID card. The Newark riots in 1967 along with similar riots in detroit also enhanced the push for gun control. A report in 1968 blamed the easy availability of guns for the protesters being armed and greeting law enforcement with gunfire.A lot of strict gun laws were also signed by two very liberal governors - Jim Florio and Jon Corzine. The legislature is solidly democratic and hasn't really been Republican since the 80s and early 90s with Governor Tom Kean, Sr. With increased immigration and the resulting changed demographics, Republicans simply cannot regain power in this state. Chris Christie was more or less an anomaly since Jon Corzine was just so bad that any Republican would have beat him. This notwithstanding, much of NJ gun control isn't just what's in law passed by the legislature. Rather, it comes from decisions from the NJ courts. A lot of gun laws in the garden state were vague before they were actually tested in front of the state superior court. For example, the justifiable need standard to obtain a carry permit was ambiguous until the Siccardi case, where the supreme court itself set out to define what justifiable need was. There was also the Brian Aitken case, where the courts determined that transporting hollow points between two homes is a felony. The NJ courts are also solidly liberal due to the state senate being solidly democratic. The current Senate President has held judicial vacancies open indefinitely until he could get liberal replacements, and was not afraid to say so.

In the end it's a combination of just solid democratic rule and a solidly left leaning judicial system. Short of a far reaching decision from the US Supreme Court, nothing will really change here

What made Buddhism spread to many countries while Hinduism didn't?

Buddhism spread throughout many countries because, in Jambudipa (the modern country India), it became very popular among people. People from all over the Indian subcontinent started embracing Budddhism. Even in the Buddhas time, several people from all over of South Asia travelled to the middle part of Jambudipa(which ranges from modern-day Benares to the Nepali region Lumbini/Kapilavasthu) where the Buddha spent most of his life teaching the Dhamma. They took a keen interest in this wonderful religion taught by the Glorious Sage and praised this new faith in every manner by teaching their families, friends and relatives about it. Soon, Buddhism became exceedingly popular and widespread throughout not just the Indian subcontinent, but even in far away lands. Although it became well-known, there arose many religious invasions throughout the world. The temples, monasteries, buddha statues and many other religious sites and artifacts were destroyed and turned to ruins by these invasions. Even the monks were killed. The scriptures were burnt. So, the buddhist community had to find another land where they can reside peacefully and practice their faith. Most of them came to Sri Lanka. Hence, Sri Lanka became the hub of Buddhism. It is in this small island that Buddhism flourished succesfully, as per the determination made by the Supreme Buddha just before attaining Nibbana (the complete destruction of all suffering). In fact, our Great Teacher, the Blessed Lord, the Worthy Sage, the Supremely Enlightened and Fully Self-Awakened Buddha told the God Sakka (a popular diety mentioned in the Buddhist scriptures and the king of the divine realms of Tavatimsa and Catummaharajika) that the Blessed Ones dispensation will flourish in Sri Lanka and to provide protection to the Prince Vijaya and his 700 companions, who will land on Sri Lanka the day after the Buddhas attaining of Nibbana. Until their arrival on the island, Sri Lanka was inhabited by non-human beings such as nagas, yakkhas and rakshas. These beings were not capable of realizing the Dhamma since they were very rough and ill-natured. So, with the arrival of this prince and his companions, humans started stepping foot on this island. Hence, with the increase in the human population, the Dhamma started shining in glory, with many listening it and taking it as a part of their lives. After decades and centuries, with the passage of time, people who came to Sri Lanka from other countries heard of this wonderful faith called Buddhism and they thought it would be fabulous to give this message to those who lived in their countries. Hence, Sri Lanka became the hub where Buddhism was spread from to several countries globally. Many people ever since came from their countries to this wonderful island in quest of the Buddhas Dharma. Even today, whenever people hear of Buddhism, the country which pops into their mind is Sri Lanka

What was the specific probable cause that led to the Mueller investigation?

There is no "probable cause" requirement for appointment of a special counsel.USA Today explained Rosenstein's appointment of Mueller as follows (emphasis added):The Justice Department tapped former FBI director Robert Mueller to be a special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation, the department announced Wednesday. The news comes as President Trump and his administration grapple with the fallout from explosive revelations earlier this week that now-fired FBI director James Comey kept notes of a February meeting indicating Trump asked him to close the agency's investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

The memo, on the heels of Trump's abrupt firing of Comey last week, fueled accusations by lawmakers of possible obstruction of justice - and calls for an independent prosecutor to oversee the FBI's ongoing counterintelligence probe into possible collusion between Trump campaign associates and Russia during the presidential campaign."I determined that it is on the public interest for me to exercise my authority and appoint a special counsel to assume responsibility for this matter," Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said Wednesday. "My decision is not a finding that crimes have been committed or that any prosecution is warranted.

How do I know what an INTJ is feeling?

I am usually very quick picking up on people's emotions. I'm slowly learning about the emotions on this INTJ I've been seeing on a weekly basis since March. My advice is to look at the INTJs' face every time you encounter yourselves in situations where pretty much all humans will feel strong emotions.

For example, someone he cares about is about to get hurt, and there is nothing he can do. If you look into his eyes, you can see silent terror, even though there is no change to his face expression. When he is using all his energy keeping himself from bitching about the food when the waitress asks him:" How is everything?"His eyes are looking over my right shoulder, away from the waitress, his teeth are cringing trying to to pretend that she is not talking to him. It's obvious that he will ever lose control, but it looks like a lot of effort to keep him from saying: "It looks like it has been sitting for a while."It took me a while to understand that the frustration was long gone along with the waitress, because there was literary no change in expression besides brighten eyes, loosen jaw, and hand back on the table. When I realized what was happening, I thought it was the most adorable thing ever...When he is opening up about a situation that bothers him deeply, but he can't change. His whole body droops down. His speech becomes faster than usual. You can feel emotion in his tone of voice, but it's almost like a very mild pouting. When he is amused (and I mean, me giving 200% performance during my joke presentation) he lets out a quick 30 degree smile to his left side. The smile is there for less than a second and is immediately follwed by a puzzled look in his eyes. It's as if he is saying "What was that I just did with my mouth?"I will not get into the sex because it's an entire answer or more than one. I mean how can one ever imagine having sex without all the facial expressions that comes with it?I do want to highlight the naughty INTJ look. It is almost like a Hanibal to Clarissa. He looks down straight into my eyes. There an almost full smile resembling an evil one. It's like he is saying: I want to "chop off and eat" everyone in the world, but not you. From you I just want your understanding, touching, and I want to be the one responsible for putting a smile on your face.. He really wants to be touched at that moment. (This is also another full answer). Call me crazy, but that's such a powerful sexy look that makes me feel like he is hypnotizing me to relax so I can take in all he is about to give.To answer your question, you should look for clues in the INTJ's eyes during moments of strong emotions. Once you learn some of the emotions, the others start becoming a little more evident.

Good luck.
