Things You May Want to Know About Tall Boots

An Introduction to tall boots

Vladimir (affectionately known as Didi; a small boy calls him Mr. Albert) is one of the two main characters from Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot

Personality of tall boots

The "optimist" (and, as Beckett put it, "the major character"1) of Godot, he represents the intellectual side of the two main characters (in contrast to his companion Estragon's earthy simplicity). One explanation of this intellectualism is that he was once a philosopher. This would explain his constant references and his attempts to engage Estragon in philosophical/religious debate.

Vladimir is deeply concerned with appearances and goes to great lengths to make sure Estragon behaves so that his own dignity is preserved. He is something of a pack rat: he carries all the food the tramps have (though he never eats himself), and has other (to quote the play) "miscellaneous" junk in various pockets. Another important prop is his bowler hat. He claims that it "hurts" him, and is eventually driven to appropriate Lucky's. After long periods of thought (or whenever he is bored) he fiddles with it and plays with the brim. This hat focus (in terms of being head centred) may be interpreted as being representative of his higher status (see Estragon's boots) and his intellectual nature: because of this, he is usually taller than Estragon, but this is a convention of the theatre and is not written in the play.

Despite this sometimes peevish and obsessive nature, Vladimir would seem to have a carnal side. He suffers from a venereal disease that causes him pain in his genitals and a need to urinate when he laughs. This might indicate a sexual past: he refers to a woman he knew who "had the clap"...although it is unclear whether this is the cause of his current condition or not. An explanation could be that he could represent the 'masculine' i.e. Vlad the Impaler to Estragon's 'feminine' i.e. Estrogen and that instead of waiting to die, it is their division that is preventing them from being born. His hat could represent a prophylactic.

Vladimir has the only social conscience in the play (compare Estragon's misanthropic view of humanity: "People are bloody ignorant apes!"), and it seems that he cares a great deal for the plight of his fellow man: he expresses outrage at Pozzo's treatment of his slave, Lucky, and acts as something of a parental figure to the sometimes childish Estragon. This is not to say Vladimir does not suffer from his own emotional tics. He hates dreams, as they represent a cruel false hope, and he is unable to cope with Estragon's logic, the simplicity of which throws him off. He also does not suffer fools well: Pozzo's decadence and Estragon's crudeness give him much cause for indignation.

Quotations of tall boots

"Hand in hand from the top of the Eiffel Tower, among the first. We were respectable in those days. Now it's too late. They wouldn't even let us up."

"Was I sleeping, while the others suffered? Am I sleeping now? Tomorrow, when I wake, or think I do, what shall I say of today? That with Estragon my friend, at this place, until the fall of night, I waited for Godot? That Pozzo passed, with his carrier, and that he spoke to us? Probably. But in all that what truth will there be? (Estragon, having struggled with his boots in vain, is dozing off again. Vladimir looks at him.) He'll know nothing. He'll tell me about the blows he received and I'll give him a carrot."

"Let us not waste our time in idle discourse! Let us do something, while we have the chance! It is not every day that we are needed. Not indeed that we personally are needed. Others would meet the case equally well, if not better. To all mankind they were addressed, those cries for help still ringing in our ears! But at this place, at this moment of time, all mankind is us, whether we like it or not. Let us make the most of it, before it is too late! Let us represent worthily for once the foul brood to which a cruel fate consigned us! What do you say? It is true that when with folded arms we weigh the pros and cons we are no less a credit to our species. The tiger bounds to the help of his congeners without the least reflection, or else he slinks away into the depths of the thickets. But that is not the question. What are we doing here, that is the question. And we are blessed in this, that we happen to know the answer. Yes, in this immense confusion one thing alone is clear. We are waiting for Godot to come"

"We wait. We are bored. No, don't protest, we are bored to death, there's no denying it. Good. A diversion comes along and what do we do? We let it go to waste. Come, let's get to work! In an instant all will vanish and we'll be alone once more, in the midst of nothingness!"

Introduction to Tall Boots,Death of Tall Boots
Death of tall bootsAfter again cruising off Cadiz for a while, Blake turned for home but died of old wounds within sight of Plymouth. After lying in state in the Queen's House, Greenwich, he was given a full state funeral and was buried in Westminster Abbey in the presence of Oliver Cromwell and the members of the Council of State (although his internal organs had earlier been buried at St Andrew's Church, Plymouth). After the restoration of the Monarchy his body was exhumed in 1661 and dumped in a common grave in St Margaret's churchyard, adjoining the Abbey, on the orders of the new king, Charles II..------Swansea Town of tall bootsSwansea Town (now Swansea City) were in Division 2 in 1936 and George moved straight into the action making his debut in the opening game of the season against the newly relegated Aston Villa, playing in Division 2 for the first time in their history. It tends to be the convention in most productions, however, that he is tall and lanky, while Estragon is short and squat. He has been portrayed by many notable actors, including Burgess Meredith (with Zero Mostel as Estragon) and - in one rather notorious version of the play - Steve Martin (with Robin Williams as Estragon) and Patrick Stewart.RelativesIn Tom Stoppard's Godot pastiche, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, the character Guildenstern closely resembles Vladimir.------In politics of tall bootsIn 1640 Blake was elected as the Member of Parliament for Bridgwater in the Short Parliament. During that time he represented Bridgwater in the Barebone's Parliament of 1653 and First Protectorate Parliament of 1654 and Taunton in the Second Protectorate Parliament of 1656 before returning to sea.------Discography of tall bootsNew York DollsNew York Dolls (1973)Too Much Too Soon (1974)Red Patent Leather (1984)The HeartbreakersL.A.M.F. However, he considers his memory unreliable because it can never be corroborated, due to Estragon's memory issues. At the end of the play, it is he who realizes the futile cycle that all of them have fallen into (see second quote). However, he rejects this realization when he finds that it is almost unbearable to live with ("I can't go on!"), and forces himself to dismiss it ("What have I said?"). He resolves to go on waiting for Godot------Cuphead (character) of tall bootsCuphead is the title character and main protagonist of the 2017 game Cuphead, developed by StudioMDHR. His successes have been considered to have "never been excelled, not even by Nelson" according to one biographer. Blake is recognised as the chief founder of England's naval supremacy, a dominance subsequently inherited by the British Royal Navy into the early 20th century. The Moldenhauers watched 1930s-era cartoons in their youth, which Chad Moldenhauer describes as happenstance, based on gifts and VHS compilations. After having tried and failed to develop a game with similar visuals in the early 2000s, the brothers began work again after the success of Super Meat Boy in 2010. During the decade long development, the character of Cuphead underwent over 150 character redesigns including a kappa in a tophat and characters with a plate or fork for a head. The character that eventually became Cuphead descended from a 1936 Japanese propaganda animated film where a man with a teacup for a head morphs into a tank. The Moldenhauers emulated the animation because they found it strange, and "right away it stuck."

Best Way to Handle Low Tire Pressure for My Car?
There's no shame in going to a tire place and asking. That's what they are there for. It may be a puncture, a rim leak, or a valve stem that requires replacement. Driving on a tire that is under inflated can cause bigger problems. Let them resolve it while it's minor1. Tire Pressure light on in new car....?It just means your tire pressure is low. Get it checked out at the closest Toyota Dealer. Its free anyways. Your car is still under the 3 year warranty. You will just wear out your tires like crazy and get horrible MPG.2. How And Why Truck Tires Blow OutTire scraps are a common sight on many highways. Many truck crashes are due to a driver losing control of a semi after the tire blows out. Have you ever wondered why tires blow out or how you can prevent a tire blowout? Keep reading to learn more. Hotter weather makes tires more prone to blowouts. The most common months for tire blowouts are from May through October, but they can happen at any time of the year, especially in states with warm temperatures year round. When the weather is hotter and you are traveling at a high speed for a long distance while carrying a heavy load, tires are more likely to fail. Older tires are more likely to fail. Truck tires can last for thousands of miles, but they eventually need to be replaced like any vehicle. Semi tires are subject to more wear and tear compared to regular vehicle tires since they travel further more often and carry heavy loads on a regular basis. Tires should be inspected frequently to make sure they are not deteriorating. Underinflation is one of the most common reasons truck tires blow out. Without proper air pressure, the tire can not handle the weight of the truck and its cargo. Tires that are underinflated are more likely to flex beyond their limits, leading a tire to failure. Always check truck tire pressure before heading out on a long haul. Potholes and uneven pavement are all over the highway. If you hit a pothole or a bump in the road traveling at a fast enough speed, the pavement can cut through the tire and cause a blowout. Other times, the tire wo not fail when it hits the uneven pavement or pothole, but the hit will weaken the tire making it more likely to blow out at a different time. Although tire blowouts can happen to even the most prepared driver, there are a few precautions to take to help prevent a tire blowout: Perform regular tire maintenance. If proper maintenance is not done regularly, it puts everyone in danger each time the semi hits the road. Inspect tires before you hit the road. Check for cracks, holes or any other issues with the tire before heading out. Maintain proper tire inflation. Before you head out, check and make sure the tires are inflated to the proper air pressure. If it is an especially hot day, check the tire pressure each time you take a break. Simple&efficient Slider Module for the Following Purpose
Views Slideshow is not a bad way to go. It will probably take some working with css/templates/views to get it to display the way you want, but it is the most used module, so if you find yourself up against a wall using it, there's a good chance someone's already has done it and has written a tutorial, or would answer a question. There are a few other modules out there you could look at. A quick search I found this page, which has a decent listAlso a very in-depth comparison on the different modules out there from drupal. org.1. Is there a common home vegtable that i can feed my red eared slider babies? and how should i prepare it?When I first got my turtles I tried lots of different fruit and veg, They just left the ones they did not like. Some of their faves are Pear just chop up a litle bit, carrot...they skin peelings, they do not seem to like strawberries, bananas or grapes. Their favorite is mango. They have never liked letuce tho!.2. Content Sliders (Nivo Slider) and SEOThe most important thing is what google sees. You do not care what JavaScript does to the images. You care what Google reads.Either use Fetch as Google or Lynx Web Browser to see how your website looks like from search engine perspective. So first thing first - you should use alt tags on your images. This way it's more google-friendly, and actually becomes valid W3C code.Secondly - as far as I can see on Nivo Slider website it's using quite clean HTML inputso you should not be bothered at all with the fact that is slices images. It could slice them, rotate, turn into a thousand pieces - it would not matter at all. Google cannot see that. What should interest you is the HTML code. So your best bet in putting the description would be by using the longdesc attribute on img tag. Alternative is that you use divs that are forced to be hidden. Like that:But I am not sure if they wo not collide with slider script, and doing things like that in general is a bad practice.Third way would be to use progressive enhancement, and either - put your text descriptions in a placeholder Div, or do not put it at all onto a website. In first case you would want to replace your placeholder div holding your content with actual slider AFTER the main content is loaded (either use simple JS content or AJAX). In second case you would add a slider into the proper spot after the main content is loaded (again: AJAX/JS) and in terms of SEO: Work as if slider would not be there. Prioritize content instead (which is IMHO the best thing you can do).3. do red eared slider turtles shells stay smooth?First of all, your question is extremely worrying. You bought a red eared slider because it was cute? Turtles need extreme care. I am not entirely sure about the adult turtles' shells staying smooth but I can tell you one thing for sure, your turtle's shell will go soft if you do not take care of it properly. Soft-shell is an illness that turtles can acquire from not being looked after properly. You were right about them basking to harden their shell. They do this for just the reason of preventing themselves from getting Soft-shell. For this you need a UVA and UVB lamp so that they can get the sun's nutrients. You need to get your turtle a big enough tank as well with a good filter. I suggest a Fluval filter and probably a 20 gallon tank to start. Try getting it used because it's cheaper. Make sure you are feeding your turtle properly (mostly proteins when it's young and progressively more vegetables as it ages). I hope that I am giving you information that you already know.4. Where should my baby red eared slider sleep at night?Turtles usually prefer to sleep in the water at night, where they feel less vulnerable. They like to rest just below the surface of the water, where they can lift their heads out to breathe. If you are concerned about the water depth, you can make a small platform just beneath the water or add some plants (real or plastic) or other decor that juts out of the water slightly so your turtle can rest on them while still being able to lift his head up to breathe. If you have a submersible water heater, you probably would not need the heat lamp at night. I have a Turtle Topper (above tank basking area) for my painted turtle. It has a platform hanging from the bottom that sits just below the water surface. He likes to sleep there and climbs up onto it when I turn his light off for the night. My big RES, though, basks in the evening and often stays on her basking dock to sleep if she's up there when the light goes out.
Water Tank Buying Guide: Price, Types, Vastu Placement & Maintenance Tips
In this article, we give you all the information on selecting a water tank and how to place it, according to Vastu ShastraSafe drinking water is a basic need and continuous water supply is needed for day-to-day activities. Often, municipalities do not supply adequate water throughout the day. So, home owners prefer to invest in a water tank for their house, to get water supply at all times.A water storage tank collects water and stores it for later use and access. Residential water tanks and overhead water tanks have become important, as they are convenient for people to access the water supply 24×7. Water tanks are also used as catchment tanks for rainwater. In India, water tanks are made from plastic, concrete, metal, fiberglass, steel and other materials. Nowadays, the plastic polyethylene (poly) water tank is the most popular for water storage, as it is lightweight, non-corrosive and leak-proof. If by any chance the plastic tank does have slight damage, it can easily be secured with a sealant. The water tanks can last up to 10 years or more, depending on the material used to manufacture them.Plastic water tanks in India come in various capacities and types - underground or overhead type. Plastic water tanks are available in various sizes such as 500-litre, 1,000-litre, 5,000-litre and it can even go above 1,00,000 liters. The size of the underground water tank is usually larger than the overhead tank.See also: A guide to water conservation methodsOverhead tanks are placed over the rooftop of any house or apartment. These are popular due to its cost-effectiveness and easy installation. Water storage tanks above ground can be easily checked for leakage through visual inspection and are usually easier to access if repairs are required. With overhead tanks, one can have to access the water even without electricity. Once the tank is filled, the gravitational force maintains the necessary water pressure through the water system.Placement of water tank according to VastuWater is one of the five elements mentioned in Vastu Shastra, which plays an important role and if its placement is not correct in the house, then, it can create problems for the occupants. Vastu Shastra has specific directions mentioned for placing the water tanks. The ideal direction for the overhead water tank is in the south-west or the west corner of the house. If those areas are not feasible, then, place the tank in the south or the north-west direction. Ensure that the tank placed in the north-west is of a small size.According to Vastu, the overhead water tank must never be kept in the north-east corner. Placing the tank in the south-east corner or the center is also not advisable, as it can result in financial loss and cause accidents. An overhead tank should not have any leakage towards the left. In case there is any leakage, it is considered inauspicious as it can cause financial loss.Underground water tanks can be either towards the north or east. If the position of the tank is towards the north-east direction of the plot, it results in happiness, wealth and prosperity.Underground water tanks should not be placed in the south direction, as it may causes mental stress and illness. The south-east direction of the house is for the fire element and there should be no water tank in that area. Similarly, the north-west and south-west directions are not recommended for underground water.Avoid a water tank above the kitchen or bedroom. There should be different tanks for different purposes. As per Vastu, avoid digging an underground water tank on Tuesday. For a small family, a 500 to 600-litre water storage tank is enough and for a big family (depending on the size of the family) opt for a 700 to 1,000-litre tank. One also gets small tanks that have a capacity of between 100 and 300 litres.Water storage tanks come in different shapes. Vertical water tanks are better for groundwater storage purposes, while horizontal tanks are ideal for underground storage purposes. For household purposes, a vertical tank would be ideal, as rectangular and square tanks can fit in the corners and make best use of space. For large areas, cylindrical tanks are the best.Storage tanks are available in various colours such as black, white, green beige, etc. Black and green tanks are preferred, as they prevent ultraviolet rays and the growth of harmful bacteria.Always choose the high-quality low linear density polyethylene (LLDPE) material and food-grade plastic material. These are safe to use and are durable.Plastic water storage tanks are available with many layers. These multiple layers protect the tanks from the ultraviolet rays of the sun. The extra layers include the black middle layer and food-grade layers that make it safe for drinking water usage. So, opt for triple-layer tanks.Always select a well-known brand and one that has a warranty.See also: A quick guide on using water metersTips for maintenance and cleaning of plastic water tank• Ensure that the storage water tank is properly closed, to avoid any impurities or waste from entering. Regularly check for leakage of pipes and get them repaired immediately.• The purity of the water is also impacted by where it is stored. Whether it is a home building or a housing complex, the water tank should be cleaned and disinfected at least twice a year to avoid water contamination and to maintain health and hygiene.• To clean the tank fully, drain the stored water. Try to use it for some chores, rather than just wasting it.• Scrub the tank, to remove dirt and sediments. One can either use chlorine or liquid detergents to get rid of deposits and germs. After cleaning the tank, always ensure that the tap is left running for some time, to wash away the dirty water.• If one is unable to clean the tank oneself, it is better to hire professionals who will do high-pressure cleaning, such as vacuum cleaning, anti-bacterial spray, etc. and ensure it is thoroughly clean.I need information about Cold Salt Water Tanks and fish?Cold water salt water tanks can be hard to come by. There are very few fish on the market that are cold water. The only one I could fine was a Catalina Goby. They are marketed as warm water, but the live best at room temp. If you want any other cold water salt water fish, you might have to collect your own. If you want to go for Catalina goblies, a 30 gallon tank should be find. You can go smaller, but this is not recommend for beginner. I would do research on salt water tanks first. However, I do not think you will need a protein skimmer, just a good filter and some decor. Also, live rock and sand might not work because of the cold water( on second though, live sand should. Hope this helps!!
Which Characteristic of the Light Wave Does Jessica Change by Increasing the Intensity of the Light?
Which characteristic of the light wave does Jessica change by increasing the intensity of the light?(I think you've got the story muddled.) If there is a current, it will be proportional to intensity. If you increase the intensity at any fixed frequency, you increase the number of photons but te energy of each photon remains the same.— — — — — —A light wave has a frequency. But a photon, travelling at the speed of light, does not experience the passage of time. How can it exhibit a frequency then?Time only appears non-existent to the photon. To massive particles in the universe frequency is a property of the photon which dictates how, or not, it interacts with those particles. To use Mr Reiter's example of a rock, a rock has a mass but has no awareness of that mass. You on the other hand interact with the rock and can determine its mass etc. Not a brilliant analogy I know.— — — — — —INVISIBILITY- A POSSIBILITY?Have you ever read books like "Harry Potter" and "The Invisible Man" and found yourself wishing that you could turn yourself invisible? For many years, scientists have been working to turn that dream into a reality, and it looks like they've finally come one step closer to achieving it.Before we get into the science of invisibility, let us begin by understanding how our vision works. Normally, we see objects because light hits an object, bounces back, hits our eyes and sends the image to the brain which then makes sense of the image and voila. you have a cup in front of you. The colour of the said cup depends on the colour of light that it reflects back — if it's a green cup, it will absorb all wavelengths of light except green, which it will reflect and you end up seeing a green cup. Ok, as that's out of the way, let's get to the real deal.Scientists have experimented with many methods over the years to achieve invisibility. One such method that was devised made use of a new man-made material called metamaterial. Metamaterials are made of repeating patterns of composite materials like metals and plastics at a scale smaller than the wavelength of the phenomena that they influence. The reason they are so special is that their geometry, orientation and arrangement gives them new properties that cannot be achieved in natural materials. One of the properties is manipulation of electromagnetic waves — whether it be blocking, absorbing, enhancing, or bending these waves. In this list of properties, the one which is most useful to achieve invisibility and the very reason for which these materials are used, is the ability to bend electromagnetic waves like light. So, now the question is, "Why is bending of light so important to this discussion?" Well, the answer to that can be explained by going back to the basics. In order to see an object, light has to interact with it. Therefore, we can make the simple inference that in order to make an object invisible, light should not be allowed to interact with the object, but instead be made to bend around the object so that what you see is not the object, but what is behind the object, thus making it seem invisible. This is where the concept of negative refractive index comes into place. We have all seen and heard of "refraction". It is essentially the bending of light when it travels between media of different densities. Normally, the refractive index of air is 1 and in other materials it is greater than 1. This means that when light travels from air to another material, it usually bends towards the normal drawn to the surface of the material. Now, what if there was a way to manipulate the refractive index so that it becomes negative? This can be achieved by altering the internal structure of a material on a small scale, like in negative index metamaterials or left handed metamaterials to the point where we can switch the positive refractive index to negative, thus enabling us to manipulate the direction of bending of light. In 2007, a research team at Maryland's A. James Clark School of Engineering used plasmon technology to create the world's first invisibility cloak for visible light. The invisibility cloak device was a two-dimensional pattern of concentric rings created in a thin, transparent acrylic plastic layer on a gold film and only 10 micrometers in diameter. But the cloak used a limited range of the visible spectrum, in two dimensions. It would be much harder to achieve invisibility in three dimensions since scientists would need to control light waves both magnetically and electronically to maneuver them around the hidden object. More recently, in the University of Texas, scientists have been successful in concealing an object to microwaves. It was called metascreen and was made of a 66 micrometre thick polycarbonate film that supported an arrangement of 20 micrometer thick copper strips which looked similar to a fishing net. In the experiment that was carried out , when the metascreen was hit by 3.6 GHz microwaves, it re-radiated microwaves of the same frequency that were out of phase, cancelling out reflections from the object being hidden. This could have a lot of applications in radio communications, weather tracking and in health care. The material, called Quantum Stealth, is currently still in the prototyping stage, but was developed by the company's CEO Guy Cramer primarily for military purposes, to conceal agents and equipment such as tanks and jets in the field. Unlike traditional camouflage materials, which are limited to specific conditions such as forests or deserts, according to Cramer this "invisibility cloak" works in any environment or season, at any time of the day.Check out this video on Quantum Stealth:Other than these technologies, methods like spectral cloaking and active camouflage have also been developed. In spectral cloaking, light is not made to bend around the object, instead it shifts one spectrum of light to another and then shifts it back once it reaches the other side. If for example, we take the cup we mentioned before and shift the green light to another part of the spectrum that is not reflected by the object, say blue, then no light will be reflected and the object will not be visible. The device then shifts the green light back to reverse the process once the light reaches the other side. This method eliminates any kind of distortion that could be caused by bending of light around the object and hence is more effective. The cloaking device is constructed from two pairs of two commercially available electro-optical components. The first component is a dispersive optical fiber, which forces the different colors of a broadband wave to travel at different speeds. The second is a temporal phase modulator, which modifies the optical frequency of light depending on when the wave passes through the device. One pair of these components was placed in front of the optical filter while the other pair was placed behind it. This method of spectral cloaking could be applicable to securing data transmitted over fiber optic lines and also could help improve technologies for sensing, telecommunications, and information processing .It could also be used for selectively removing and subsequently reinstating colors in the broadband waves that are used as telecommunication data signals which could allow more data to be transmitted over a given link, helping to resolve impairments due to increased demand in data. In 2003, scientists at the University of Tokyo created a prototype active camouflage system that makes use of a material impregnated with retroreflective glass beads. The viewer stands in front of the cloth viewing the cloth through a transparent glass plate. A video camera behind the cloth captures the background behind the cloth. A video projector projects this image on to the glass plate which is angled so that it acts as a partial mirror reflecting a small portion of the projected light onto the cloth. The retroreflectors in the cloth reflect the image back towards the glass plate which being only weakly reflecting allows most of the retroreflected light to pass through to be seen by the viewer. This system works only when viewed from a certain angle. In conclusion, even though an invisibility cloak that could make objects, much less humans invisible has not yet been perfected, we are on the right track. The very fact that we have come this far goes to show that with technology and a creative mindset, anything is possible.Follow us for more of amazing and latest science and technology articles. The purpose of connecting the customer's system to ground is to limit the voltage that may develop if high voltage conductors fall down onto lower-voltage conductors which are usually mounted lower to the ground, or if a failure occurs within a distribution transformer. Earthing systems can be TT, TN-S, TN-C-S or TN-C.— — — — — —Does this writer understand that fossil fuels have saved more lives than he is claiming it kills?Problem is that electric cars pollute more then gasoline burning cars. The pollution is distributed elsewhere not to mention the losses in electric power over the transmission lines make them far less efficient— — — — — —Global warming - Hydro Electric Power?easy Am still try to work out the population bomb— — — — — —when will hydrogen and electric cars and fueling stations be widely available to the public?too bad you grew up in an age of plenty, and the ability to satisfy your needs now rather than learn patience. remember that in the early day of the automobile we had several fuel sources, including ethanol, gasoline, steam power, and electric power. for the most part all fell out of favor as it was easier to make gasoline at the time, and the oil industry was willing to make the investment in the infrastructure to support gasoline powered cars. we have been building and refining the infrastructure for gasoline powered cars for over 100 years now, and that wont go away overnight, and building an infrastructure to support an alternative fuel car wont pop up overnight either. in the US, it took 15 years for enough diesel powered cars and light trucks on the road to get the retail fuel outlets to start selling diesel around the country so you didnt have to find a truck stop to fuel your diesel mercedes— — — — — —Is electric power SOLID LIQUID or GAS?You are clever. Even though both electric and gas/liquid can be transmitted or stored in solid container, it does not mean that they are both the same. Ever think about idea or thought? Our mind can store idea/thought and our mouth can transmit it. It does not mean that idea/thought also liquid or gas, does it? Even our brain is mix of solid and liquid thing.— — — — — —TEN POINTS If you can give the best reasons WHY ELECTRIC POWERED CARS ARE BETTER THEN GASOLINE?Consider only proven facts. Fact: Electric cars, as they are produced today, are more expensive to buy and maintain and will never save the owner money over the life of the car. Fact: The electric motor has Always been the best and most efficient method of powering an automobile, but the batteries have Always been a problem. The batteries we have today are better than any time in the past, but they still are Not good enough. Until better batteries are developed, the electric car will never be an acceptable alternative. Charging time is a problem also. Fact: Hydrogen fuel cells are great and they directly convert hydrogen/oxygen to electric power and give off water vapor as a waste byproduct. They would be clean and good, except for the fact that the hydrogen source is from petroleum and until better, more efficient sources for hydrogen are develpoed, they can not be considered practical. Electric cars can be best if the problems are overcome but the science just is not there yet.— — — — — —Electric powered cars, what about electric powered RV's.?I believe the government is trying to banned the usage of electric vehicles— — — — — —What do think will be the near future best means of electric power for automobiles? In the near future I see a continuation of the same for "electric vehicles", e.g., Ni Metal Hydride (as in Toyota Prius) and lithium ion batteries that are the subject of intense research and very close to commercialization. I suspect that the market over the next 10-20 years will slowly gravitate to Plug In Hybrids for most cars or a system like GM's planned Volt system, e.g., an electric vehicle with an small on board electric generator that runs on gasoline (which to my surprise is actually VERY efficient compared to internal combustion engines with current drive trains). Everything else, e.g., fuel cells, etc., will take even more years to develop into an appropriate appropriate drive train. Although I suspect that any improved batteries or other electrical storage devices that have high energy storage to weight rations like "ultra capacitors" will be the next generation because they will simply offset batteries in the electric drive trains being developed now. BTW If you read the projections . in the near future electric vehicles and plug in hybrids or the volt system will NOT make significant inroads into the market and are expected to be less than 25% of the market for many years to come. I suspect that gas prices will level off somewhere about $5 per gallon and the US market will get used to it . plus there will also be increasing competition from ultra efficient diesel engines that Europe now uses. Its going to be a fun ride though.
Make Your Own Electricity
Think of it. The India receives five trillion watts of energy from the sun in one year. "This is enough to generate all the electricity India would need in the next decade, even using solar modules with a modest conversion efficiency of 12%," points out S. Rajendran, consultant, solar-integrated power solutions. So, electricity supply shouldn't really be a problem in a tropical country like India. In fact, in many German cities, people sell the excess electricity they make from solar panels in their own homes to the state electricity grid!Generating electricity from solar energy is a simple process. Photovoltaic panels convert the solar energy from sunlight into electricity through the photovoltaic effect for feeding into the household electricity supply or into storage batteries.Wide rangeToday, it's not just cookers and heaters: there are a vast array of solar devices. Firms like Rekha enterprises, Solkar, Teltekh and others offer solar fans, home lighting systems, portable and emergency lanterns, garden lights, street lamps (ideal for apartment complexes), solar pumps for drawing water, specific UPS-inverter systems designed for houses, common areas, shops, restaurants, offices etc, and even solar power plants. In most cases, buying a solar device makes is a one-time investment, without recurring expenses. Dr. S. Balasundaram, who has gone in for a solar light-and-fan solar device, says, "I keep the solar panel in my balcony, and charge the light and fan during the day. Apart from the initial cost of Rs. 3,000, there has been no other expense." He adds, "I would like to go in for a total solar-powering up of my house, but the capital cost is prohibitive now. We need more subsidy."Likewise, V. R. Janakiraman, who bought a 100-litre capacity solar water heater 15 years ago for an effective cost of Rs.7,000, says, "I have hot water even at midnight as heat is retained for 48 hours. Over the years, I have got my money back several fold through savings in electricity consumption."Roof-top power plantToday, there are several rooftop solar power systems available in the market, which can power anything from lights and fans to the TV and computer, and even the fridge, depending on the system you go in for.The rooftop solar systems are eligible for capital subsidy. "On buying a one-kilowatt solar device that costs between Rs. 2.35 to 2.75, you can claim a reimbursement subsidy of 57 to 70,000 rupees from the Ministry of Renewable Energy, through Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA)," says S. Rajendran. Solar devices are eligible for bank loans and tax rebates too. Nandalala Seva Samithi Trust has been using a rooftop solar power plant for a year now. Its coordinator, C.S. Ravindran, says, "We now save about 25 per cent of electricity. Besides, it has ensured uninterrupted power supply. In the long run, the system is a great boon, but the reimbursement has to be made faster and smoother for attracting more users".Empowering the publicIf any building - homes, offices, or institutions capitalises on solar power, our electricity problems should vanish. In fact, many architects in the west are recommending that the entire roof be made into one huge solar panel with the proper orientation, to make the building largely independent of the electricity grid.Rooftop solar power systems to power common utilities can also be made mandatory for new buildings, the same way rain water harvesting was made mandatory to great effect. "A house or a building complex that takes a crore of rupees or more to construct can easily set aside a lakh of rupees for solar infrastructure," S. Rajendran adds, "If the government grants more subsidies for solar devices, power shortages will become redundant. It will be a case of empowering the people to power up."
